Paul Salisbury

CEO

Paul Salisbury is the operational brains behind the organization focused on evaluating, transitioning, and optimizing acquisitions.

Previously, Paul operated as a Senior Vice President for Rackspace, leading a team of 300 employees that delivered “Fanatical Support” to over 55,000 North American Hybrid and Cloud customers. Paul’s organization served 70% of the Fortune 100 delivering superior technical expertise and a world class customer experience. Paul left Rackspace in May of 2017 to pursue entrepreneurial interests and co-founded Dura Software in 2018.

Prior to joining Rackspace, Paul served as Professional Services Regional GM at Dell Computer Corporation where he oversaw the delivery of consulting services engagements for the Eastern United States. Paul’s 25+ year career in technology also includes implementing large-scale ERP solutions at Ernst and Young Consulting in the United States and abroad and leading Manufacturing Process Controls efforts for Procter and Gamble.

Paul holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Texas. Originally from Northern California, Paul has been in Texas now for more than 20 years and became a San Antonio resident in 2011. Paul loves the Texas outdoors and in his free time you can find him on the golf course or at the beach with his wife and two daughters

Carlos Navarrete

Operations Manager

Carlos Navarrete leads the strategy of the company to extend its footprint into Latin America and bring the culture, vision, and best practices at each of the businesses that Dura operates.                        

Prior to Dura, Carlos served as a Customer Success Manager for Moki, the first company acquired by Dura back in 2018. Carlos also worked as an Enterprise Account Manager at Rackspace, where he successfully helped the businesses serving the top Latin American customers, who together held $12mm of annual revenue, kept churn under 0.5% and maintained more than 30% growth YoY.

Previously, Carlos spent almost two decades working for the main information technology companies including IBM, Hewlett Packard, and EDS, gaining experience in IT management, digital transformation, and business administration.

Carlos is a proud Mexican living in the US and his formula for success is to bring the best of both cultures. Carlos’ mantra is “You don’t know who you really are until you leave the place, you’re from”. He speaks fluent Spanish and English and loves spending time with his family and traveling to new places all over the world.

Debbie Li

Corporate Development Associate

Debbie is involved with deal operations, sourcing, and acquisition evaluation at Dura Software. She focuses specifically on building rapport with intermediaries within the software M&A space. She also supports diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts across all of Dura.

Debbie is from New York City, but moved to San Antonio as a Venture for America Fellow in 2020 to see what it takes to build a company from the ground up. Prior to her role here, she worked in the ventures group at Citi and the corporate treasury office at J.P. Morgan focusing on firm-wide strategic initiatives. 

Debbie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from Baruch College (CUNY). She is a self-proclaimed book worm and enjoys reading works of art from James Baldwin to Sylvia Plath.

Brad Ward

VP of Operations

Brad Ward oversees company acquisition and transition, compliance, IT, nearshore operations, shared services, and centers of excellence. Brad joined Dura Software in September 2019. Previously at Dura Software, Brad served as the Chief Revenue Officer for Nordic IT 

and the VP of Sales and Marketing for Moki.  Prior to Dura, Brad operated as a Strategic Account Director at Rackspace, leading a cross functional team that delivered “Fanatical Support” to the largest and most complex customers in the portfolio. Brad began at Rackspace as an Account Manager and spent the majority of time in service as a leader across multiple departments. Brad left Rackspace in March of 2018 to deploy with the Texas Army National Guard to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He has also held roles at Symantec and Orion Talent.

Prior to Rackspace and Dura, Brad served in the US Army as an Infantry Officer for 6 years and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Brad continues his service today as a Major in the Texas Army National Guard.

Brad holds a BA in Government and an MA in Communication from Angelo State University. Brad is a native Texan from Midland/Odessa. Brad enjoys spending time on the lake, golfing, and traveling with his wife, Kayla, and two boys.

Emma Xie

Senior Accountant

Emma Xie is the Senior Accountant at Dura Software, where she manages revenue recognition and purchase price allocation process, prepares revenue recognition memos, assists implementation of NetSuite and preparation of financial statements and management reports. Emma has master’s degree in accounting. She is a CPA who has more than 8 years of experience in both public accounting and industry. Emma started her career at PwC right after she earned the master’s degree in accounting in Albany, NY. 

In 2013 she relocated to San Diego. During her career, Emma has worked in numerous industries including telecommunications, real estate, and software. Emma has very good understating of auditing procedures. Additionally, she specializes in full cycle accounting, GL and revenue recognition. She also has practical experience in streamlining processes, improving efficiencies, standardizing policies and technical accounting research.

Alex Johnson

Accountant Operations Coordinator

Prior to joining Dura, Alex was an Accounts receivable coordinator for Porter Loring Mortuaries (a prestigious and well known business that has been in San Antonio for over 100 years).

Alex was born and raised in San Antonio and holds an associate's degree in science pre-nursing from San Antonio College as well as a bachelor’s degree in finance at Texas A&M University at San Antonio. 

During his free time, you can find Alex in the kitchen cooking a new dish. He is also a huge movie buff and enjoyed going to the movie theatres (pre-COVID). He also has two dogs (Snowball & Cherry) that I love as my own kids.

Cally Kobza

Manager of Sales & Marketing

Cally Kobza is the Manager of Sales and Marketing Operations at Dura Software. She works in various CRM and marketing platforms to help generate more leads, create brand awareness and streamline processes through automation.
Previously, Cally worked as Sales and Marketing Agencies, helping them scale. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with degrees in Journalism, Marketing and Advertising and French. Cally is from the Milwaukee area, but loves to travel to other states and countries. She is also a huge Wisconsin sports fan.

Michael Girdley

Chairman

Michael Girdley is the Chairman of the Board and head of strategy at Dura Software. Michael manages the firm’s strategic initiatives including acquisition strategy and growth planning/execution. He also adds technical expertise to Dura’s business operations.

Previously, Michael was Managing Director of the Geekdom Fund, a seed-stage tech venture capital fund with $24 million under management that has invested in over 50 high-growth tech companies.

Michael has also co-founded several tech-related companies and nonprofits: Codeup, Alamo Angels, and the RealCo Accelerator.  Prior to diving into San Antonio’s tech sector, Michael was CEO of Alamo Fireworks, the largest retailer of consumer fireworks in Texas. Under his leadership, the family business transitioned from 3rd to 4th generation leadership and grew by over 50%.

Academically, Michael’s background is rooted in technology. He received a BS in Computer Science from Lafayette College. Michael began his career in San Francisco, where he held engineering and marketing roles at RSA Security and BEA WebLogic, where, at age 25, he was the lead product manager for a $300mm business.

Michael serves on the boards of Alamo Angels, Codeup, RealCo Micro VC, Prospectify, and Alamo Fireworks. In 2015, the San Antonio Business Journal named Michael “Man of the Year”.  Michael has also authored several books on computer programming which have been translated into four languages.

Amy Garza Lee

Project Manager

Amy Garza manages the due diligence and transition processes for all new acquisitions, along with managing several strategic projects for Dura. 

Amy is a native South Texan and currently a 2020 Venture for America Fellow. Prior to Dura, Amy worked in various roles throughout the food and agricultural industry including marketing and promotions, supply chain management, vendor relationship management, and strategic planning. 

Amy holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Outside of work, you can find her running along the Riverwalk and exploring the local coffee & culinary scene with her husband.

Rodrigo Soto Larrain

Corporate Development Associate

Rodrigo is responsible for deal generation efforts in Latin America as well as evaluating acquisition opportunities at Dura Software.

Originally from Chile, Rodrigo also lived in Hong Kong, United States, Switzerland and Brazil. His areas of expertise include corporate finance, business development and project management. Before joining Dura, he held strategic roles at large multinational companies, such as Zurich Insurance, Walgreens Boots Alliance and Electrolux.

He graduated from HKUST Business School with a Bachelor of Business Administration and is currently pursuing an MBA at COPPEAD in Rio de Janeiro, where he was chosen for an exchange semester at CEIBS (China Europe International Business School). Rodrigo cares about social wellbeing and inclusion. He co-chairs his MBA class's diversity committee.

Everette Hubbard

Director of Compliance & Security Operations

Everette assumes a strategic leadership role and the oversight of Dura Software's operational compliance initiatives.

Everett brings 20 plus years of industry experience with small and large global enterprises covering Financial Services, Manufacturing, Transportation, Technology, Retail, and HealthCare. Everette has chaired, organized, and participated in industry conferences and is a member of various industry associations and networks such as InfraGard, ISACA, CISO Executive Network. Everette also serves on boards for Non-profit organizations establishing corporate investments and support.

Everette has held the top industry certifications, including the CISSP with an MBA from Western Governors University. Everette is an avid but less than average golfer who builds corporate and industry golf leagues to establish networking opportunities with industry, enterprises, vendors, and business partners.

Jerry Thompson

Director of IT

Jerry Thompson is responsible for ensuring that the use and support of technology, throughout the organization, aligns with the needs of the business.

A USAF veteran of multiple deployments, his experience includes managing capital projects, large technical deployments and construction jobs for clients such as the Army Corps of Engineers, BNSF and Georgia Pacific. Jerry was the Vice President at Advanced American Construction in Portland, Oregon when he and his wife moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 2018.

He is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, fishing, skydiving, SCUBA diving, boating and driving and restoring classic cars and motorcycles.

Chris Burney

CFO

Chris Burney oversees acquisitions, capital allocation, and financial management of Dura Software’s business lines.  Chris joined Dura Software as an investor and co-founder in September 2018.

Previously, Chris served as the Founding Executive Director and Board Chair at Alamo Angels. Since its inception in December 2016, Chris managed Alamo Angels’ growth to over 100 investor members who have invested over $2.5M in startup businesses.

Prior to Alamo Angels, Chris spent four years at Rackspace where he held roles on the operational and strategic finance teams.  Chris’ responsibilities at Rackspace included leading a team of financial analysts overseeing a $450M annual operating budget as well as supporting corporate M&A activities.

Chris is a native San Antonian who returned home permanently in 2012 after spending 10 years living and working in New York and North Carolina.  During his free time, Chris enjoys playing competitive tennis and exploring new events and locales in the San Antonio area with his wife Lizzie and three young girls.

Chris holds an undergraduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He has also held roles at J.P. Morgan and Thomson Financial in New York City

Kristina was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She has spent the last five years developing and growing in her accounting career. She began her career as a banker, which is where she discovered her love for numbers and accounting. She has worked in the non-profit and the small business sector, her experience includes, accounts payable, general ledger and payroll. 

She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing her Masters of Professional Accounting. Outside the office you will find her spending time with her three beautiful boys and husband.

Daniel Martín Flores

Daniel Martin evaluates acquisition opportunities in the LATAM region at Dura Software.

He was born in Mexico City but moved to Guadalajara in 2015 after earning a Football Scholarship to play at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Before joining Dura's Corporate Development team, he worked in Investment Banking and Credit Risk Management within the Corporate Banking group at Banco Santander Mexico. He brings several years of experience to the team.

Daniel graduated from Tecnológico de Monterrey with B.A. in Financial Administration.  He sees himself as a passionate and curious individual who is always looking to start new hobbies. He spends his free time playing golf with friends or enjoying trips to the museum to see art.

Chris Smith

Controller

Chris Smith oversees global accounting operations and guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Prior to Dura, Chris held accounting leadership roles at Verimatrix, VizExplorer, and Jack Henry & Associates. In those roles, he played an integral part of implementing new systems, streamlining processes, and compliance with complex revenue arrangements. He brings a deep background in software accounting to Dura and San Antonio. 

Chris holds a Master of Accountancy from Missouri State University and is a CPA. He relocated to San Antonio early 2020 from San Diego and is looking forward to exploring all the great things Texas has to offer. Outside of the office you’ll find Chris doing anything active and enjoying the outdoors. Some of his favorite activities are going on hikes or adventures with his wife Sarah and their dog Maximus.

Lauren Chung is responsible for assisting the corporate development department with sourcing and maintaining sales operation systems.

Originally from McKinney, Texas, Lauren has been in San Antonio since 2017. Lauren started with Dura in 2019 from the Students + Startups program. A recent graduate from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Lauren has degrees in Finance and Economics with a minor in Marketing.

On her free time, you can find her at the gym enjoying High Intensity Interval Training and free-weight lifting. Lauren also enjoys attending EDM music festivals and hanging out with her Australian Cattle Dog, Presley.

Jacob Medina

Operations Manager

Jacob Medina is an Operations Manager and focuses his efforts on Shared Services at Dura Software. In his role he is maintaining, supporting, and consolidating software platforms and specific product areas.

Prior to Dura, Jacob attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in History. He brings 20+ years of business and management experiences in the retail and IT industries with an emphasis on strategic planning, process management, and vendor relations.

Jacob was raised in San Antonio and had the opportunity to live in the Dominical Republic and Belize. While there he gained a wealth of life experience. You will typically find him spending time with his wonderful wife and 4 young children. He loves to travel and has an affinity for genealogy.

Alec Hartman

Financial Analyst

Alec Hartman is responsible for financial planning & analysis, due diligence, and data processing for the organization.

A San Antonio native, Alec earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting & Finance from Abilene Christian University in 2016. Prior to joining the Dura team, Alec served in the Sales Operations department at Funeral Directors Life where he cut his teeth in the field of data analysis and reporting. He continued his professional development by earning a Data Science certification from Codeup as a part of the Curie cohort in 2020. Overall, Alec loves helping businesses operate more effectively by leveraging their data to make more informed decisions.

When Alec isn’t at the office, you can find him training Brazilian jiu-jitsu, lifting weights, practicing yoga at a local park, or causing a ruckus on his piano keys.

Joseph Villafranca

Director of Technology

Joseph Villafranca leads the mission to build valuable, sustainable, and evolvable software at each of the businesses Dura operates.

He currently also serves as the CEO of Grok Interactive, one of the longest standing software consultancies in San Antonio, specializing in developing cutting edge software to solve many different business problems. He has written software professionally for over five years, in as many different languages and technology stacks as that amount of time could reasonably allow.

He holds a Bachelor of Business of Administration from Texas A&M University and is a graduate of the inaugural Codeup cohort.

Jamiaque Paraga

Jamiaque Paraga is responsible for deal generation efforts in Europe as well as evaluating acquisition opportunities at Dura Software.

He has been active in the field of financial services and diversification with a focus on analysis, investment planning including customer services orientation. His soft skills experience has led him to promote lead business generated in Asia and Europe for various industries.

Originally from Paris, France, Jamiaque moved to Germany in 2015 to pursue a career in the Mergers and Acquisition industry. He is a focused, flexible, funny character with quick perception, as well as a detailed person with strong intercultural competence (French, English, German, and Mandarin) that raised an incredible amount of awareness for connecting through social media and other paths in any sector. His previous working experience led him to act as Junior Wealth Manager and Business Development Analyst for respected International companies throughout the world.

Nick Perry

Senior Analyst

Nick is a member of the Corporate Development team where he is responsible for evaluating acquisition opportunities at Dura Software.

Prior to joining Dura, Nick was a Financial Analyst at Houlihan Lokey where he worked as a generalist across the Transaction Opinion, Portfolio Valuation, and Corporate Valuation Advisory practices on a wide array of engagements including fairness & solvency opinions, purchase price allocations, and debt & equity valuations. Prior to that, he was an Analyst at Duff & Phelps. 

Nick holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Finance, both from Texas A&M University. During his free time, Nick enjoys brushing up on his jazz piano and hiking the Texas outdoors.

Melody Pelrine

Melody Pelrine is the HR Generalist at Dura Software and belongs to the Talent Acquisition team. She was born and raised in San Antonio and loves exploring the outskirts of the surrounding Texas cities. Prior to Dura, Melody worked as an HR Generalist at Nielen Global Media. 

Melody completed her Associates degree in Business Administration at Northwest Vista College. In her spare time Melody enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with family and friends.

Conor Chamness

Conor Chamness is responsible for sourcing, engaging, and evaluating acquisition opportunities at Dura Software.

Originally from the DC Area, Conor moved to San Antonio in late 2018 as a Venture for America Fellow. Prior to the Fellowship and joining the team at Dura, he worked in business development, marketing, and operations at a number of startups and consulting organizations.

Conor is a graduate of Boston College with degrees in Finance and Economics. Now that he lives in Texas, he cannot conceive of a reason people would choose to live somewhere without palm trees.

Rebecca Huff

Rebecca Huff joined Dura as the Chief of Staff and will support a multitude of projects and initiatives for the Dura team. Previously, Rebecca held leadership roles in accounting and business operations and has led complex projects from inception to implementation.

In her free time, you can find Rebecca and her husband working on home renovation projects or enjoying outside activities with their two children.

Rebecca holds an MBA from the University of Maryland – R.H. Smith School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Mount Saint Mary College.

Thibaut Guidet

Finance Manager

Thibaut Guidet oversees financial planning and analysis at Dura Software and provides business decision support to its different subsidiaries.

Prior to Dura, Thibaut served 9 years at Rackspace where he held various roles on the pricing and operational finance teams. In his last rotation there, he was the global corporate FP&A lead overseeing a $2.7B business and steered the company to its IPO in 2020.

Originally from France, Thibaut moved to Northeast Texas in 2006 as a high school foreign exchange student. He later completed his undergraduate finance degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

During his free time, Thibaut enjoys playing board games, exploring local parks with his wife and rescue dog, and fueling his caffeine addiction at Theory Coffee.

CEO of 6Connex

Ruben Castano is the Chief Executive Officer at 6Connex. He is responsible for leading all strategic and business operations of 6Connex.

Previously, Ruben operated as Chief Revenue Officer for Blue Software LLC., a Danaher Company, leading a global team serving 100,000+ users, 12,000+ brands and 5,000+ companies worldwide.  Ruben’s organization helped transform a go to market strategy that drove disruption in an industry delivering significant high velocity revenue growth of ACV with a 440% increase over a two-year period.

Prior to joining Blue Software, Ruben served as Vice President and Managing Director, Americas at 1WorldSync, a Battery Ventures Company. In the 13+ years at 1WorldSync serving more than 17,000 customers across 54 countries, Ruben led teams turning a previously flat level performing organization to double-digit percentage growth results year over year.

Ruben holds a BBA in Management from the University of Texas, San Antonio. Ruben has lived in Texas his entire life calling San Antonio home since 1990. He and his wife Belinda have 2 daughters and in his free time you can find him enjoying the Texas outdoors (golf, hunting, fishing) or hosting a BBQ.

Chris Williams is a veteran of the telecommunications industry with more than 25 years of experience, primarily focused on Customer Experience and Unified Communications solutions. Chris has led domestic as well as international sales and marketing teams catering to all market segments including Small/Mid-Sized Business (SMB) and Enterprise customers. His focus on providing Cloud, SaaS and Managed Services solutions has benefited customers in Healthcare, Higher Education, and across several other industries.

As Chief Executive Officer at DVSAnalytics, Chris is responsible for establishing strategic goals, creating long-term organizational plans, and leading business operations. With his sales expertise and passion for developing successful, high-energy teams, Chris fosters a collaborative culture to provide exceptional products and services to customers.

Prior to DVSAnalytics, Chris was responsible for sales strategy and business development, reaching year over year growth for sales targets. He has served as Director of Sales at ConvergeOne, Senior VP of Sales at Evolphin Software and 2Wire/Pace, and VP of Sales at Avaya. Chris graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Justin Brady

CEO of Nordic IT and CEO of Lane

Officer at Nordic IT. He is responsible for leading all strategic and business operations of Nordic IT.

Previously Justin operated as Vice President of Customer Success for Rackspace, leading a team of 250 employees supporting customers across multiple dedicated and cloud server product lines.  Serving a base of customers ranging from small-medium businesses to the largest enterprises, Justin’s teams repeatedly delivered the highest levels of customer satisfaction and customer retention within the company. His passion for building a great culture and developing people has allowed him to consistently create high performing and highly engaged teams over the years.

Prior to joining Rackspace, Justin operated as the Director of IT for a large San Antonio-based law firm. He was responsible for the strategic planning and the operation of all hardware and software solutions, along with the associated networking and telephony infrastructure.

Justin holds a B.A. in American History from Washington and Lee University and an MAA in Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word.  Originally from New York, Justin moved to San Antonio in 2001. He and his wife, Kim, have two young daughters and in their free time enjoy spending time at the beach or exploring the Texas countryside.

Madison Mauzé

Madison Mauzé is the Chief Executive Officer at Vertex Systems.  He is responsible for leading all strategic and business operations of Vertex Systems.  

Previously, Madison served as Chief Operating Officer of FetchMD.  HIs primary responsibilities included creating, launching, and leading employer operations and consumer roll-out of a proprietary two-sided mobile app platform, enabling patients and providers to connect in person seamlessly in the form of a “house call” visit for minor injuries and illnesses.  He served as Regional Vice President of Business Operations for the Walgreens Take Care Clinic, Vice President of Operations for Whole Health Management, and Vice President of Business Development for Celltex Therapeutics.  

Madison Mauzé received a BA in Chemistry and a minor in Business from Texas A&M University and he earned an MBA with a focus on healthcare innovation from Harvard Business School.  He and his wife, Mara have two young sons and in their free time enjoy spending time in the Texas Hill Country or other outdoor adventures.

Michael has also co-founded several tech-related companies and nonprofits: Codeup, Alamo Angels, and the RealCo Accelerator.  Prior to diving into San Antonio’s tech sector, Michael was CEO of Alamo Fireworks, the largest retailer of consumer fireworks in Texas. Under his leadership, the family business transitioned from 3rd to 4th generation leadership and grew by over 50%.

Academically, Michael’s background is rooted in technology. He received a BS in Computer Science from Lafayette College. Michael began his career in San Francisco, where he held engineering and marketing roles at RSA Security and BEA WebLogic, where, at age 25, he was the lead product manager for a $300mm business.

Michael serves on the boards of Alamo Angels, Codeup, RealCo Micro VC, Prospectify, and Alamo Fireworks. In 2015, the San Antonio Business Journal named Michael “Man of the Year”.  Michael has also authored several books on computer programming which have been translated into four languages.

Paul Salisbury

CEO

Paul Salisbury is the operational brains behind the organization focused on evaluating, transitioning, and optimizing acquisitions.

Previously, Paul operated as a Senior Vice President for Rackspace, leading a team of 300 employees that delivered “Fanatical Support” to over 55,000 North American Hybrid and Cloud customers. Paul’s organization served 70% of the Fortune 100 delivering superior technical expertise and a world class customer experience. Paul left Rackspace in May of 2017 to pursue entrepreneurial interests and co-founded Dura Software in 2018.

Prior to joining Rackspace, Paul served as Professional Services Regional GM at Dell Computer Corporation where he oversaw the delivery of consulting services engagements for the Eastern United States. Paul’s 25+ year career in technology also includes implementing large-scale ERP solutions at Ernst and Young Consulting in the United States and abroad and leading Manufacturing Process Controls efforts for Procter and Gamble.

Paul holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Texas. Originally from Northern California, Paul has been in Texas now for more than 20 years and became a San Antonio resident in 2011. Paul loves the Texas outdoors and in his free time you can find him on the golf course or at the beach with his wife and two daughters

Bianca Martinez Rhodes

Bianca Martinez Rhodes is the President of Knight Areospace Medical Systems, LLC, which designs and manufactures specialized aerospace products that maximize the utilization of cargo aircraft.   

Bianca began her career as a Commercial Banker for National Bank of Commerce, the second largest bank in San Antonio.  After six years, she left to work for one of her clients, TexCom Management Services, a computer leasing company.  She helped the Company consolidate a 34 bank group into one which positioned the company to be sold to Intelogic Trace, (NYSE:IT), for which she became the Chief Financial Officer.  

After Intelogic Trace, she joined Kinetic Concepts Inc. (NASDQ: KNCI) whom she had helped to take public a few years earlier.  As its CFO, she engineered a turnaround which more than quadrupled the company’s valuation and enabled its private offering just three years later.  

After KCI’s successful private sale and wanting to focus more on her three young children, she started consulting for a number of private enterprises, specializing in financial and operating issues.  She has also managed her family’s asset portfolio consisting of several apartment complexes, single family homes, and various other real estate ventures.  Rhodes has successfully raised capital, structured buyouts, and advised dozens of companies, primarily in the health care sector.  

Her career includes numerous voluntary positions especially targeted to women’s real choices including the founding of Any Woman Can, and various civic board positions with organizations such as AirLife San Antonio, Junior Achievement of San Antonio, Big Brothers and Sisters of San Antonio, Lighthouse for the Blind, and the San Antonio Greater Chamber of Commerce.

Bianca graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in Finance. Bianca has been married to Jim, an investment professional with Wells Fargo for more than 32 years and has three children and two grandchildren.  Besides her family, her passions include reading, God, and the mountains of Colorado.

Matt Morris

Matt Morris founded Hampton River Partners, LLC in 2018 with support from several Bay Area entrepreneurs and families. Previously, Matt was a Senior Analyst at Pelorus Jack Capital (“PJC”), a San Francisco-based investment partnership.  Prior to PJC, Matt was a founding team member of Challen Asset Management (“CAM”). Matt opened the firm’s Menlo Park, CA office and was responsible for driving primary research on individual direct investments, as well as funds.  Previous to CAM, Matt was an Investment Manager at Northgate Capital (“NC”), a multi-billion dollar alternative asset management firm.  Matt also had valuable early experience at CB Richard Ellis, DivcoWest and Payden & Rygel.  

Matt earned an MBA with a Finance emphasis from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  Matt lives in Austin, TX with his wife and three children.

John McGuire

John McGuire is currently the Founder of Fructify LLC, a fintech start-up providing supply chain finance solutions to agricultural exporters in emerging markets.

 Previously, John was the owner of Loop Cold Storage Co., a family owned business which ran the largest refrigerated warehousing operation on the US-Mexico border.  During his tenure with the company, the company grew from 60 to 200 employees and profits increased by 2.5x, before a successful exit to Lineage Logistics in 2014. 

John holds a BBA from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
